Who Has Helped Us Grow?

We wouldn't be where we are today without the help of some really special people and organizations.

Here are some that have been critical to our growing organization:

WHO
WHAT
HOW IT HAS HELPED
Paul McClain &

Avid Brakes
5 sets of top of the line
disc brakes & $625 Cash
Four sets of the brakes, that Paul sent us, were adapted to our two Kili-Kart trail devices and were essential during GC4 and HAVASU1. The money was used to purchase our handheld HD camera. Footage from this camera was used for "Unstoppable". Paul also donated his time and expertise in helping us to solve our "lack of brakes" problem. Paul then personally rallied the support of his coworkers in raising the money for the camera.
Lee Miller

Post Production/Editing
of "Unstoppable"
Lee, a talented filmmaker, struggled with missing footage and some shaky scenic shots to pull together an incredible telling of the story from GC4 and HAVASU1. In addition to about $3200 worth of donated time to convert, edit, and compile our footage and narratives, he has also spent many hours coaching and advising us as we attempt to incorporate short film-making into our organization. These films have already become our most powerful tool for telling our stories and inspiring more people to participate...and this direction would not be possible without Lee's invaluable insight.
Vernon States
States Rental
Mounting of brakes to
the Kili-Kart devices
Vernon and his team donated over 40hrs of work time and incredible ingenuity as they figured out how to mount our disc brakes to both Kili-Karts. There solution was simple and elegant and was ultimately the key for us to be able to go forth with GC4 and HAVASU1. Vernon has participated as a pusher and puller on Alpenglow's 2nd Grand Canyon expedition, GC2.
Bart Weems

Skyway Wheels
Development of specialized
wheels for Kili-Karts
Bart was extremely patient and supportive as he worked with us as we tried to figure out a wheel adaptation that would allow us to mount disc brakes to our two Kili-Kart trail devices. And it was his epiphany that two different Skyway wheel designs could be combined to accomplish what we needed. He also used his skills of persuasion on the manufacturing floor to sneak in a short production run just for us. Our GC4 and HAVASU1 trips would not have been possible without Bart's help.
Chris Poirier
Initial Website Concept
Chris has donated his time and his incredible graphic design skills to Alpenglow. He helped us improve our logo concepts and he developed our website's homepage and its basic visual layout. He also gave additional time to help teach us how to further develop the website on our own.
Kathy Creech
$600
Kathy and her family generously donated this money specifically for GC4 and HAVASU1.
